    The First Thanksgiving

The First Thanksgiving, 1621, painting by L.J. Ferris, end of the 19th century, USA

Thanksgiving commemorates the arrival of the Pilgrims Fathers. On the fourth Thursday of November, the Americans remember how the Pilgrim Father thanked the Indians (Native Americans) for their hospitality. People commemorate it by having a big lunch with food that was discovered in America, such as turkey and pumpkin, etc.
